Jongensfontein lies on the “Cape Whale Route” and in whale season (July - November) visitors will observe whale mothers playing with their calves.  Whale watching is a firm favourite with families during this period, and the dedicated whale watching view point above the harbour is excellent for this purpose.  Visit the Jongensfontein Museum for some interesting facts on the village and surrounds.

Accommodation facilities in Jongensfontein include a caravan park situated close to the beach front, self-catering houses and flats to rent, bed and breakfasts as well as guesthouses.
