The Funny Farm Shire - Country Style Self Catering, Pet Friendly holiday accommodation, Wilderness Lake District, Garden Route, South Africa
Welcome to The Funny Farm Shire! Come and experience country living amidst the peace and natural beauty of the Wilderness Lakes District on the famous Garden Route of South Africa. The property has three lovely self catering homes, which are professionally built cob houses. All three homes feel cosy, natural and uncomplicated.
The Funny Farm Shire is situated in a rural, sunny location next to the wetlands of the Garden Route National Park. There is abundant birdlife on the farm and adjoining wetlands and these can be seen close up at the Malachite Bird Hide which is 400m from the farm gate. One of the property’s most outstanding features is its magnificent view of Langvlei Lake, which is a large protected bird wetland and an internationally designated Ramsar site.
The farm has eight hectares of elevated, thick indigenous forest which can be experienced close up when doing the Lonely Mountain Trail. This is about a 30 minute walk, taking you through the forest, with shady places to stop and have a rest while admiring the view over the lakes...
We are child and pet friendly!
