Welcome to Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary!  Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary is situated at The Crags, Plettenberg Bay and offers hourly informative, interactive tours for any ages with over 100 snakes and other reptiles to see. Open daily 9am – 5pm. We cater for the snake phobic to the snake lover!!!

Most people are aware that we get both venomous and non-venomous snakes, but have little knowledge on telling them apart. It makes the subject mysterious and encourages fear. We aim to bring a better understanding when dealing with snakes!​

Lawnwood Snake Sanctuary Tour

Join us for a one hour guided tour consisting of an indigenous snake pit, various outdoor exhibits, a large dome housing South African and exotic snakes, following by enormous pythons, monitor lizards and crocodiles.

The tour commences with the introduction of a variety of snakes found in the Garden Route and South Africa. We guide guests to try identify and understand some of the most common snakes encountered in Southern Africa​. For the tour, be sure to bring a camera and comfortable walking shoes.

The curio shop on the premises offers some light snacks, cool drinks and ice-creams. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments and  relax on the spacious lawns or in the shade of the forest.​

School Groups

Many schools visit the sanctuary because of the unique presentation style as the topic is relevant and easily explained and understood. We offer discounted rates for school groups!

KIDS BIRTHDAY PARTY - We offer a unique birthday experience catering for the age relevant. Discounted rates are also offered for birthday groups.

TEAM BUILDING PACKAGE - We also offer team building packages for interested companies.
